Founded in 1999 and formally established in 2001, the Washington Ireland Program Alumni Network (WIPAN) is made up of the 400+ Alumni of WIP. Today the WIPAN exists to serve three specific objectives:

  1. To support the ongoing successful operation of WIP and its affiliate Leadership & Service Programs
    • Supporting the design and execution of recruitment, induction and graduation of WIP classes
    • Supporting WIP fundraising efforts
    • Identifying/delivering new sources of support (financial and operational) for WIP
    • Acting as ambassadors for WIP (and the principles it stands for) in our workplaces and local communities.

  2. To establish and support an active, productive social and professional WIP Alumni network
    • Organising and delivering ongoing professional and social networking events
    • Creating and supporting active professional and social communities (both on and offline)
    • Publication of regular Alumni eNewsletters.
    • Provide opportunities for professional development for WIP Alumni
  3. To make a valuable contribution to the societies in which we live and work
    • Supporting local social and charitable initiatives
    • Engage positively in the political, social and economic life of the communities in which we live - for the better of all
    • To demonstrate and promote the WIP principles of service and leadership in our everyday work and social commitments.

With Alumni now employed across many of the UK, Ireland and USA's leading Political, Commercial, Public Sector and Social Enterprise organisations, the WIP Alumni Network represents a growing body of influencers and leaders.

To see who has participated on the Washington-Ireland Program for Service and Leadership over the last number of years, please click on their Class on the right hand side.  We are looking for Class photos from before 2004, so if you're a class member and have a copy - please contact office-at-wiprogram.org and let us know!

One of the most important aspects of WIPAN is our commitment to "give something back" to WIP and our communities - in the spirit of Service and Leadership than underpins WIP itself. To see some of the initiatives WIPAN are proud to be associated with see the links on the right under "WIP Initiatives". If you are interested in setting up a public service venture and would like WIPAN to consider supporting your idea, please contact the WIP office who can connect you with an Alumni representative or join the Alumni group on LinkedIn and Facebook.
